MISSION:
|
The idea for Feeding the Spirit was born on an early January morning when Greensburg resident, Deb Thackrah, an avid runner, altered her running route, only to come face-to-face with a segment of our community that few knew existed. who knew that this trail, generally used for walking and bicycling by day, turned into a homeless camp by night--young, old, some on the ground, some huddled in blankets, others covered in cardboard. Deb's heart exploded with compassion and a strong commitment to DO something. That "something" has grown into Feeding the Spirit.

Each week, guests gather together to receive nourishment - in mind, body and spirit. Volunteers join together to serve everyone and what is created is an atmosphere of perpetual grace, fellowship and acceptance.
The weekly meal is held every Thursday evening at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Greensburg from 5:30pm to 6:30pm |

How you can participate |
Every individual deserves to have food and safe shelter. Sadly, not everyone in our neighborhood has access to these basic needs. You can become part of the solution by donating your time to come and volunteer at a weekly meal and/or by donating money to ensure that Feeding the Spirit can continue to provide the services to families and individuals in need. You CAN make a difference in someone's life today!
